We specialize in helping our clients to reach their higher needs.

To better understand the role of Timmins Family Counselling Center in our community, let’s examine Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. This theory, developed by Abraham Maslow, posits that people are motivated by five basic categories of needs: Physiological, Safety, Love and Belonging, Esteem, and Self-actualization.

In this theory, higher needs in the hierarchy of Love and Belonging, Esteem, and Self-actualization begin to emerge when people feel they have sufficiently satisfied their primary Physiological needs and Safety needs. This is when Timmins Family Counselling Center’s expertise is there for you. We have been renowned for our counselling /psychotherapy since 1979.

The first two levels at the base of the pyramid are Physiological needs and Safety needs. Multiple agencies in Northern Ontario specialize in supporting individuals with their various needs, including shelters, housing organizations, and food banks.
